Out of Nathon town going south, is the way to 'Best Mountain View Point' culminating at 467 metres. A little bit difficult to find the entrance, which is shortly after Wat Chaeng temple, look for the sign 'Tazan View' (this is not a spelling mistake). If you feel confident in your driving skills, you can try the six-kilometre drive to eat a simple but nice lunch on a wooden terrace overlooking Maenam and Bophut Bay and if the weather permits, a splendid birdview on Phangan Island. The first five kilometres are nicely paved, but be aware that the last kilometre is a rather steep and slippery dust road (not recommended in case of rain). If you don't feel like taking a risk but still want to have a look, many travel shops on the seafront road, next to the pier, propose a well organized tour in land rovers with qualified drivers.
